We recommend that you call the store in advance and ask if it is possible for vegetarians.
Because there is Tunachi right away, I think it would be better to go to that shop.
Course dishes are lunch time, but 4 to 6 kinds. You can also order your favorite. The head office is still recommended after all.
The store behind Bikkoro is a general head office. Tsunohaan is a high price course compared with the total head office. Because it is different food (by course) to handle, it may be better to watch HP. I like counter at the head office in the atmosphere.
You can enjoy lunch at a great value for lunch.
whats m8
Credit cards are fine
I decided to go for this place based on the reviews. Had to wait about 5-10 minutes outside before getting a place. The tempura was nice and there is a set of rules to follow, which they explained to us. But the reason why I am giving 4 instead of 5 starts is because the waitress was so grumpy.
We had a very good temporal lunch. Had the set menu for lunch which I would recommend. I had the one above the zen special and it was plenty of food for it hungry individual. It's worth the wait a few more minutes to get a seat at the bar and watch them actually prepare your food.
Pretty good, but a bit pricey. We ordered two different sets. The overall atmosphere and presentation was very nice.
This is an absolutely amazing tempura experience. The lunch menu was so fresh with the staff being very helpful for the right amount of food to order. It'll be hard to go back to the rubbish tempura we experience in the UK
Best tempura place!! They do vegetarian options for the sets which are amazing! It was super fresh and cooked in front of us and they provided instructions for how to do eat the tempura.
They accept int'l credit cards. Good service. Wish the tempura master had told me that the dip (sauce) for the tempura was contained inside a porcelain "teapot" which you have to pour yourself into an empty "dip" saucer. I poured soy sauce into my saucer which elicited a frown and a "no, no" from the master.
Second time we've been here now and the most recent experience foodwise was just as good as we remembered it. This time because we have a little one they sat is in a room away from the fryers so it changed the experience a little (safety reasons). The tempura was light and crispy and service was great. Some workers could speak english and they also have an English menu. Lunch specials also available.
Food here is pretty high. The popular dish is $25+. We waited for 3 min before going in. Very Japanese. She asked us if we wanted a sitting table or sitting on the floor style. We did the sit on floor. Though it was very authentic and culture. For the price. I like to go to the other chain Tendon Tenya. Very cheap and very tasteful
Delicious authentic tempura. We recommend getting a reservation, as it’s limited seating around the tempura “masterâ€. They prepared the tempura fresh - shrimp right out of the tank, same with fish. It was delicious with the different salts and pickled radish. I highly recommend the tasting course and was full at the end of it. Also in a great location for walking around before and after.
Went for lunch. Menu was simple and staff was very helpful. Being an ignorant Westerner, I had some trouble figuring out how to eat all the different components of the meal correctly. the staff was happy to help albeit a little amused by my questions. Most importantly the tempura was amazing, highly recommend.
This is one of the most expensive meal I ever had in my entire life... I ever had in Japan🙈 it's very much popular and a highly recommended restaurant in Shinjuku. Its amazing historical foundation in 1923 caught my attention so I asked my friends if they like to try.. Unfortunately, the price wasn't a joke. This was our last meal in Tokyo so might as well have a blast - The meal was very good, the tempura was very tasty and not oily. I'm also including their cute server in this rating (probably, he's one of the owner's son/grandson) ðŸ¤
Great atmosphere .... our server spoke English which made things easier .... the menu is in English too .... for those vegetarian folks .... they do have vegetarian tempuras .... so dig in !!
What an amazing experience! We went around 15:00 to have lunch so of course the queue wasn't very long. The interior of the restaurant sets a great vibe and I recommend to sit by the counter so you can see your food getting prepared. The chef also took the time to explain us how to eat tempura properly, so the experience was even greater. We picked the 2500 yen set, which was quite filling and for the price gives you a great value. Staff is very professional and nice and they speak a bit of English, with an English menu too. Absolutely recommended
Good clean tempura restaurant. However I was not a huge fan of the tempura itself. The ingredients were great, I was just missing some flavor. Perhaps the tempura I was accustomed to back in the US is different. Pricing was rather expensive as well. The lunch special I ordered had 5 pieces of tempura for 1500JPY.
Great atmosphere and fantastic food. Great to see it cooked and prepared in front of you.
Delicious tempura fried right in front of you. Many ways to eat the tempura. Quite an experience
Great tempura and service. The chef demonstrated cooking tempura in front of me because I sat at the counter. I was solo customer and a bit worry to enter the restaurant but I was willing to have their excellent tempura. As a result, I was fulfilled by happiness to have their authentic tempura and I could create great memory in Tokyo.
We waited in a small queue for about 15 minutes. Lovely cute little place. Huge portions so go hungry. The restaurant is very nice inside you can either have a restaurant bar seat or a booth - we opted for the booth. Staff friendly and price reasonable. We ordered the top two items from the lunch menu didn’t disappoint.
An amazing tempura experience in the heart of Shinjuku. Helpful chefs and delicious food.
Didnt wait much and the food was very good. It seems very popular for local people as well as foreigners. People kept coming in and going... i was sitting in the bar but there was a room as well i guess you can get it if you reserve(?) anyway it was a very enjoyable meal!!
Good food. But there are better option with the same price
Hot tempura were brought out to us on each item. Anago (sea eel) was sooo good! It’s worth to have this tempura once in a while since it’s hard to do at home 😀
Best tempura tried thus far and reasonably priced. Do give the tempura egg and tempura ice cream a try!
Very tasty tempura with fresh ingredients. Lunch specials are cheap. Order more accordingly if you want more!
Great experience. Wonderful tempura and meguro sashimi in the center of Shinjuku. You can choose from various set or a la carte. Good price between 35-45k¥ for a complete meal.
Best tempura ive ever eaten. This place catered for us very well. We were 3 English speaking tourists. Will definitely come back
A dream come true for me. I always wanted to try tempura in Tokyo. This made me so happy and speaking English wasn't a problem. Thank you!!
Really good tempura. Crispy on the outside and soft in the inside. Reasonable price too.
Great tempura, High qualityBut don’t come here if you are hungry and are looking for a big feed
Crazy good tempura! A friend of mine in Tokyo told me about it. Amazingly delicious real deal old school tempura but not super expensive. They have a bar you can sit up stairs or downstairs and be there watching the fabulous chefs. The wasabi salt is out of this world! You can buy it when you leave.
One of the best tempura in Tokyo at this price range, the location is easy to get to and it's quite large inside. The batter is one of the lightest i tried in Tokyo and the seafood inside is cooked to perfection with a wonderful crispy crunch in every bite. The chef takes their time and never serve the entire selection in one go in order to keep the tempura fresh. It's not greasy and the wasabi salt is delicious.Whenever my relatives comes to visit me, this is the place i always bring them to for tempura.
This is the best tempura experience I’ve ever had! Each tempura was freshly cooked in front of us. We ordered the smallest set which includes prawn, white fish, pumpkin, sea eel, and more smaller prawn tempura along with rice, soup, and pickles. We tried dipping the tempura into the sauce as well as dapping it on flavored salt (wasabi salt is the best!). The service was also superb. Strongly recommend for tempura lovers!
Must go authentic/true Tempura restaurant at Tokyo.Use sesame oil to fried the food, that makes every dish really aromatic and flavorful. Every ingredient is really fresh, the prawn are even kept live at the tank in the restaurant, and will not process until ordered. All dishes are made at ordered, so expect somewhat wait time. The chef will not start the next dish unless he knows the customer can have their dish freshly made and eat at the right pace and temperature. It is really precise. Be expect to wait a long line during high peak hours for dinner time. If you know someone that speaks Japanese, making reservation few days in advance is actually the best way to avoid wait.
Tried the tempura zen set. Contrary to other reviews, i find them very helpful to foreigners. Do not film tho. They even gave the eating guide (see pic) 3 ways of eating tempura i definitely did not know. The last dish of the fried prawn bits were awesome. Recommend trying it.
Good but not worth the wait.It was recommended as a must visit so maybe my expectations were too high. Queued for 30+ minutes to get in and felt rushed once inside. Food was good and filling but not worth the ¥2500 for the cheapest selection. If there isn't a queue go in; but don't waste your time when there is plenty of great Tempura places just as good in walking distance
